About Maia

Hello, I’m Maia Mitšulis.

I’m Estonia’s first certified Process Communication Model® (PCM) trainer.

My path

From spaces to the space between people

I began in graphic design and later worked in interior design. I cared about making spaces beautiful, functional and comfortable for the people in them.

Eventually, I became more curious about the space between people: why one person hears support where another hears criticism, and why even a well-meant message can be understood differently from how it was intended. PCM brought structure to that curiosity. It helped me see how differences in perception, motivation and stress play out in conversation, and how our ways of communicating shape the relationships we build.

My insight

Not every conversation
leads to a relationship —
but every relationship is shaped by conversations.More conscious communication can improve our relationships.

How I work

Understanding grows through experience.

PCM gives us precise language for personality, motivation, communication and stress. In my work, that language becomes most useful when people connect it to situations they recognise and have a chance to practise.

I make room for questions, experiment and humour. The aim is to leave with something you can notice and use in your next conversation, not simply a set of terms to remember.

A moment from a workshop

In a practical session on six ways of communicating, participants tried each one for themselves. Afterwards, they described a shift: the six ways had become something they could experience, not just names on a slide.

They noticed that some ways of communicating came more easily than others. Some were surprised to find that the easiest way was different from the one they had expected. The exercise gave them a new perspective on their own preferences.

Special thanks for your energy and ability to explain complex things in simple language. It was not only informative, but also really interesting!”

What matters to me

A precise model, made human

Clarity

To me, PCM is like a periodic table of human relationships. What first looks like endless variety begins to reveal a pattern, and that pattern helps us understand what happens between people.

Practice

PCM is a tool we can use in everyday conversations. That is what “a tool to make a daily difference” means to me: it helps us notice what is happening and gives us the option to choose a way of communicating that fits the person and the moment.

Patterns of our own

We all have the same six Personality Types, yet their different arrangements create a remarkable variety of personality structures. I find that shared foundation and the beauty of each individual pattern equally fascinating.

Beyond training

Still making things

I love photography and the small details it invites me to notice. I pay attention to nuances in conversations, too. I also enjoy making things by hand, and I love to draw. I usually draw on the small pages of a sketchbook, but recently I surprised myself by painting an acrylic canvas about 1.1 by 1.5 metres.

I also play tennis, where I am on the other side of training. My coach notices what I need to develop and finds ways for me to practise through play. It reminds me how much attention and enjoyment matter when we learn.
